Chatwaka Jackson, professionally known as Taka, is a licensed professional hair stylist. She has worked in the hair industry for 11 years and counting . A graduate from Paul Mitchell School in St Louis, Missouri, she went on to work at one of St Louis top salon Shi Salon studying and mentoring with the amazing Marie Simone. With her immense drive, she decided to take her talents to Los Angeles, California to enter the film and television industry. After hitting the ground running and working on multiple sets she landed serval leading role as Depart Head but her latest accomplishment has been lead role as a Department Head for Hair for the film, “The Blackening”. Her work has also graced the world renown Gucci, Oscars red carpet, and the catwalk of New York’s Fashion Week with Harlem Fashion Row and has successfully worked beside some of industries remarkable hairstylist such as Julien D’ys and mentor Darico Jackson. Her work has been published in multiple magazines such as; PUMP, InBlack Mag, and Gamaro to name a few. And she didn’t stop there, with a passion for teaching, she became a licensed instructor and taught specialty classes at Paul Mitchell in Sherman Oaks, California and continues to educate future and present artist in the Industry with her Portfolio Building Master Class. Her plan is to continue to push the boundaries and teach the artistry of hair in the industry. Chatwaka has worked different avenues in the industry and is devoted to sharing her experiences and knowledge by mentoring those that desire the know-how, of how to maneuver in this competitive field. Her ambitious personality keeps her striving to continuously learn, stay creative, knocking down doors and accomplishing goals. Her talents are constantly evolving and pushing the boundaries of hair and will not cease anytime soon.
